Kyffhäuserbund visor with character. These caps were worn by enlisted men of the Kyffhäuserbund (The umbrella organisation for veteran and reservist associations).
Features a blue cloth body with an embroidered black central band, gilt metal cap wreath with painted central insignia. Complete with the original chinstrap. Interior of the cap retains the original leather sweatband and blue lining with silver leaf tailors details and Veterans Association insignia. Original owners initials plaques fitted to the sweatband. Some light scattered moth tracking to the top but otherwise a good example.
The cap is missing a pin and the cockade has been moved to the wrong position. However, this is a lovely relatively untouched original cap, with a superb condition interior. It is suitable for a quick and easy restoration.
Condition: OK. Some minor moth damage to the cap itself. Some of the leather chinstrap has been damaged. Minor aging and fraying visible on the cap band. Minor damage to the cockade paintwork. Suitable for an easy non-destructive restoration job.
